  About Us

The PBBC was established in 2008 and has been blessed by the Prime Ministers of Palestine and Britain, Dr. Salam Fayyad and Mr. Gordon Brown.

This initiative is supported by UK Trade & Investment and Palestine's Ministry of Economy.

Currently there are 14 Council members – 8 in the Palestine Chapter and 6 in the Britain Chapter and a coordinator for each Chapter. Antoine Mattar and Tarek Aggad are the Chairmen for the Britain Chapter and the Palestine Chapter respectively, with Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean as Patron of the Council.

Our strategy

The PBBC recognises that the restriction of movement of people and products in and out of Palestine as well as within the occupied territory leads to economic suppression, high levels of unemployment of qualified people, untapped opportunities and ultimately poverty. The development of Palestine’s economic infrastructure is crucial to the well-being and sustainability of the Palestinian people. Only by removing barriers to allow the freedom of movement of people and goods can economic improvement be enhanced and hence stability achieved. The PBBC extends its arms to support this strategy.

Our vision

Our aim is to liaise between the business communities of Palestine and Britain and to arrange direct contact between them. We will also seek opportunities and encourage the development of trade and investment in both countries, with the support of both governments. Assisting businesses in Palestine in understanding and adopting the most up-to-date business practices is a key factor in what we have set out to achieve.

Our mission

- To facilitate British business activities in Palestine

- To facilitate Palestinian business activities in Britain

- To support the continuous improvement of the standard of living of the Palestinian people.

The Palestine Britain Business Council’s Charter of Business and Conduct was duly signed by the 2 Chairmen on December 15, 2008, in the presence of government representatives from both Palestine and Britain.
